Nutritional Value
Hairy gourd is rich in water, vitamins, protein and carbohydrates. It can also prevent constipation. Hairy gourd with minced meat is easy to digest, suitable for those who have poor appetite and poor digestion ability. Scallops also rich in protein, fat, carbohydrates, vitamin A, calcium, potassium, iron, magnesium and other nutrients.
Ingredients
- 120g minced pork
- 2 hairy gourds
- 1 scallop
- 2 garlics
- 3 slices shallots
- Appropriate amount of Shaoxing wine
- Small amount of white pepper
- Little amount of salt and ginger
Seasoning:
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sugar
- Small amount of white pepper
- 1 tsp of cornstarch
Directions
- Wash and soak scallop. Shred and place aside once the scallop softens.
- Add the seasonings to the pork, mix well and set aside.
- Peel and wash the hairy gourd, chop into chunks.
- Heat the wok and add in oil. Saute scallop until fragrant, remove and set aside. Keep the water soaked with scallop for later use.
- Saute the minced pork until almost cooked.
- Add the shallots, garlic, ginger and stir-fry until fragrant. Then add the hairy gourds and pork, stir-fry slightly.
- Add a splash of wine and the scallop.
- Add in a moderate amount of hot water and the scallop soaked water. Once the water boils, change to low heat and stew for 12-15 minutes.
- Season with appropriate amount of salt and white pepper, then thicken the sauce with cornstarch.
- Little tips:
- Do not add in cold water, cold water will drastically decrease the temperature inside the wok.
- When stewing the hairy gourd, stir occationally to ensure equal distribution of heat.
