Fried Pork Patty with Lotus Root

Nutritional Value

Chinese water chestnut is rich in protein, vitamin C, carotene, calcium, phosphorus and iron. It also has antibacterial and anticancer effects.

Lotus root contains various minerals, fibres, vitamin C and folic acid. Vitamin C has antioxidant effect which helps preventing cancer. Moreover, lotus root helps lowering blood pressure.

Ingredients

  • 200g Pork     
  • 300g Dace
  • 100-150g Lotus root
  • 3-4 pieces of Chinese water chestnut
  • 1 set coriander
  • 1 egg

 

Seasoning:

  • 1 table spoon soy sauce
  • Appropriate amount of dried flounder fish powder
  • 1 pinch pepper

Directions

  1. Wash and mice the pork. Add seasonings for later use.
  2. Wash and peel lotus root. Cut it into tiny size.
  3. Wash and cut the coriander and water chestnut.
  4. Mix the dace, coriander, water chestnut and lotus root with the minced pork and stir the mixture in one direction. 
  5. The dace has its own flavor, so little seasoning is enough.
  6. Put the mixture in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  7. Then take the mixture out. Put an egg in and mix well.
  8. Heat up a pan. Add cold oil and scoop up a small ball with a spoon. Put it in a pan and flat it with a spoon. Fry on low heat until the meat is well done.
  9. You can add mushrooms and dried shrimps into the minced meat according to personal preference.
